To the SW of the Illa d’en Colom is the beach of Es Grau in the Natural Park S’Albufera des Grau.
Whipped by the winds of the 1st and 2nd quadrant, on then N side is the Punta Fra Bernat the closest to the Illa d’en Colom. The passage throught this area is dangerous for boats larger than 0,8 meters draft, so it is advisable to circumnavigate the island by its E side, always taking in to account the Cap Mestral -between probes of 10 and 20 meters-, in its NE side. Between the two islands is one of the most valuable sand anchorages for sailors due, its tranquillity and the transparent waters of the area.
As it is a summer colony it has many services besides being an area exposed only to the north wind.
